Champion Yoshi Muroya vs. New Generation Patrick Davidson- The Battle for the AIR RACE X Champion
This year’s tournament sees South African Patrick Davidson (Team 77) as the points leader.
In the season opener (Fukushima round), Davidson won a fierce battle with last season’s champion Muroya (LEXUS PATHFINDER AIR RACING, Japan) to take his first win of the season and extend his lead in the early stages of the series.
Davidson was quick to adapt to the unique competition style of AIR RACE X and has steadily improved his performance in last year’s 2024 season, finishing 2nd in Round 2 and 3rd in Round 3.
Muroya, on the other hand, is aiming for a come-from-behind victory with his champion experience and advanced piloting skills.
Taking advantage of the experience, he gained in the opening round of the season, Australian New Generation pilot Aarron Deliu, will be aiming to advance to the top of the standings.
This important second round of the championship has the potential to significantly change the balance of power in the series, and the tension has been building since the beginning of the season.

Points Leader Patrick Davidson comments:
” With the victory in the first round, I am now in the position of points leader for the first time. In a tough battle where the slightest difference can make the difference between victory and defeat, even the slightest mistake is not tolerated. The key is always to fight with yourself. Mental stability, physical coordination, and instantaneous judgment and reaction are all at a high level as we prepare for the upcoming race.”
With the strong support of their new partner, Emotive, the team is moving forward toward their first series win.” My passion for racing is always in my heart, and the AIR RACE X concept of expanding all possibilities is a real challenge for me right now. I will give it my all again in Round 2, so please support me at INFINITE SKY – where the sky is the stage”
Round 2 INFINITE SKY will be held as the Remote Race
With the highest degree of spatial freedom among the three race formats. It will be held as the “Remote Race” of AIR RACE X’s three race formats Remote, Digital and Live.
Pilots race their aircraft from their own bases located around the world, and highly accurate flight data is sent to and collected by the competition headquarters.
Based on this flight data, comparison images with the opponent’s ghost aircraft and multiple on-board images will be synthesized and then combined with the AR/XR performance provided by STYLY.
Even the slightest differences in the pilot’s line-taking and manoeuvring are visualized, and the precise tactics and piloting techniques is vividly brought to life, inviting the audience into the space itself with an unprecedented sense of immersion and realism.
INFINITE SKY will create a new experience of watching races in the “pure sky” beyond borders and geographical restrictions, depicting the possibilities of future space utilization that will eventually connect cities and the sky.
